The civil rights movement in the US started with just ONE person refusing to give up her seat to a white passenger as required by law.
The incident sparked a movement that ended racial segregation and the US has gone downhill ever since.

Singapore is a multicultural country. It is therefore required that some opinions should not be voiced out as they can spark racial and religious riots.

Rights in Singapore need to sacrificed in order to maintain order and stability so that the country can continue to prosper.
What is far more important than rights is the obligation and responsibility of all Singaporeans to make sacrifices for the common good and this includes speaking in a responsible manner so as not to cause disharmony.

It is because of the fact that the majority of Singaporeans obey the PAP that the county has progressed from 3rd world to 1st in less than a generation.

Why does the pap compel only SG guys to do two years NS fulltime and 13 years NS reservist? Isnt that disadvantaging SG guys in the market place?
That is the western concept of government. Singapore is not a western nation it is a Confucian society where our elders, our parents and our leaders need to be respected and obeyed in order for society to function.

I agree. The PAP is not used to the idea that they are servants of Singaporeans and are to do their biddings.
NS helps SG guys prepare themselves for the responsibilities and stresses of adult life. It gives SG guys a distinct advantage at the workplace.
PAP is not a servant party it is the ruling party.
You are ignorant. It's not a western concept. The fact that Singapore has a Parliament and has universal sufferage means that the elected govt listens to the electorate.
