hahaha....double confirmed an empty vessel....
SH did not asked to be invaded.....he was brought down by external powers under the pretext of some trumped up charges (like holding WMD).....
compare the pre and post SH Iraq, is the average Iraqi better off???

History is full of such examples.....you bring down a dictator and the country intead of prospering.....descend into free for all and complete anarchy.....
the most classic example of people power toppling a dictator (without bloodshed) is Marcos in the Pihilipines......has the country progressed since??? u can debate about it....but 1 thing is certain....money politics still prevalent in the country....

There is always 2 sides to a coin and the grass is always greener on the other side......
you want freedom of speech, u can go to the Islamic Sates/Somalia; etc....there you can also have freedom of actions....not only speech.

The USA cant stand Saddam and was offended by his taunts. Do you disagree that Saddam claimed he had >90 of the popular votes? Far more than PAP's claimed 60%.

But I don't believe Saddam had 90% support of the Iraqis. Neither do I believe pap has 60% support of true Singaporeans. That was my point.

Dear Tracy,

Pappy dogs could use indirect means to soft-threaten Sinkies to vote for them, especially those working in civil service, GLCs or private companies with business dealings with gahmen bodies and institutions.

For the sake of keeping their jobs, they will reluctantly vote for these mudder-farkers time after time.

That strategy will backfire on the pap. Many pioneer generation Singaporeans who suffered under that strategy are now turning against the pap.

Tan Jee Say claimed that even as a highly-ranked civil servant, he always voted for opposition and still got to keep his job. Either Tan Jee Say was lying, or PAP never penalized civil servants for voting against the government.

We voted for PAP because despite one-party dominance for 50 years, PAP has always insisted on keeping the civil service politically neutral. If you look at China, the military forces is officially under the command of the Communist Party, and not the country of China. To rise up the ranks in China's civil service and military, you have to join the CCP.

Be grateful for PAP. Many tiongs who migrated to Singapore are full of praises for PAP because they have lived under far worse government back home in China.

The pap cant intimidate intelligent Singaporeans like TJS. What the pap hopes to do is to intimidate Division 4 staff. These days, even that PAP strategy fails because Division 4 staff are well read and are knowledgeable. Division 1, 2 and 3 are even more resistant to pap propaganda
