The next GE has not even been announced yet.. and it seems the sentiments on the ground are being feared.. so much so.. that pappies supporters.. are beginning to tell ppl here.. that it is pointless to do "anything"..??
What the farg is going on? The TS thinks that the current party that is running the government.. is actually having so much support.. that it is guaranteed victories until 2030? If so.. why start a thread here with that title? If so confident.. why do anything? Pioneer package.. getting a committee to study changes in CPF (delay tactics imho.. if want to change.. just do it.. like they have always done with min sum and change from one account to THREE).. why even do anything to try to appease the public.. if they feel the public is really behind them.. supporting them?
The saying goes "never count your chickens until they are hatched"... it is the same with farming.. you cannot forsee what may come.. and only when you have reaped the fruits/products of your labour.. will you see what kind of returns/rewards/success you may have... not before.
With lousy foresight (admitted by ah loong himself), would you believe this TS? The only absolute truth.. in life.. is that everyone will DIE! One day... sooner or later... you will die. That.. is the absolute truth in life. With that in mind.. everything else is actually anybody's guess. And.. where there's a will.. there is a way. If TS title is what is in the minds of Singaporeans, who feel that doing anything will not change the future outcome.. then everything WILL remain the same. but never forget.. it only takes one person to sound the call to make others believe.
For every thread or discussion done, do make people think or feel that tyrants can rule forever.. there will be many more people who will rise up and say otherwise. History has thought us that dynasties and empires can never last forever.. that is the TRUTH.
Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
Unhappiness on the ground and dislike for the ruling party doesn't always translate into votes for opposition. Voters will still grudgingly vote for the incumbent for as long as oppositions don't measure up to voters expectations.
NSP is still a ragtag army, SDP has yet to overcome that image problem, WP is still too small to challenge PAP. On the whole the wide disparity and disunity amongst opposition parties doesn't convince voters especially the fence sitters that an Multi party coalition gov is the next best option to PAP. All these are factors the hinder opposition camp from mounting a serious challenge to PAP.
PAP will continue to rule for as long as voters distrust for opposition is more than their dislike for PAP.
