i remembered my first computer, a 8086 Ohio Computer. (1983)

back then have to use cassette player to load the software, and you can actually HEAR the program being loaded. < Back then, how data was stored was via ANALOG cassette tapes (magnetic), and before pressing PLAY to the program, you must type LOAD, and then listen to the program being loaded. ANALOG DATA -> LISTENED BY COMPUTER MIC, DETECTS ANALOG TONES, TRANSLATE TONES into ASCII codes >

After you SEE the Program loaded into the RAM, you have to type RUN to execute the software.

If you mistakenly hit the BREAK button, the RAM will be erased, and you got to redo the process again.

By the way, that computer was a relic, with only 8Kbytes of RAM!

If you ever watched the re-run of that old drama that I was talking about, you will see the old Funan Center Digital Mall in the old format (no skylight, dark).

Re: Old Apple PC

most pple would add the z80 to run CP/M, wordstar, supercal and dbase.

I bought an Apple II+ clone from a friend who had built one in the mid 80's. At around the same time I also bought a 2nd hand Commodore 64. I couldn't justify spending $$$ when one's is income constrained:o

So didn't have alot of $ for peripherals for my system. On the Commodore 64 I only had a tape drive & the system was connect to a TV. The Apple II+ only had 48Kb of RAM & nothing else:o
