A young woman in her early twenties, fell off a bridge onto the riverbed along West Fourth Ring
Road in Zhengzhou City and was left unconscious for more than 24 hours before she was rescued.
Passersby heard her cries for help when she regained her consciousness and immediately called the
emergency rescue services.
When rescue crew arrived at the scene, the woman was still in a semi-consciousness stage and was
only able to move one of her hands.
On-site survey by medical staff indicated that the woman may have suffered spinal cord injuries making
rescue effort more difficult in the night.
It took seven officers about 30 minutes to extricate the woman onto the bridge and evacuated to hospital.
