Young PAP members in controversy

Dec 2009 - Sear Hock Rong (Eunos) threatens to sue netizens who pointed out that his company clients included the grassroots organisations he served

Jan 2010 - Eric How told Singaporeans to blame their karma and not the government if they did not do well in life

Mar 2010 - Sinha Sheka boasted about profitting from HDB flats as a new citizen and called some people "dogs"

Jul 2010 - Jack Lin (Joo Chiat) called Singaporeans 3rd class citizens and insinuated that opposition MP Chiam See Tong bought his "O" Level cert

Jan 2011 - Cheo Ming Shen (Toa Payoh) used vulgarities against a satire blogger

Soo Ee Hock - upskirt video man, even got awarded public service medal

You can be sure that none of the afore-mentioned will be standing as candiadates in the next GE.
One thing the pappies have done very well is to ensure that their candidates are scandal-free. At least in appearance if not in fact.

Of course, even if the dicks do the right things and the mouths say the right things, it doesn't mean that the hearts and brains are feeling or thinking the right things.

Whatever the case, they are PAP members. The PAP controlled media puts any controversy in one opposition party on the other opposition parties. Why shouldn't PAP take responsibility on people who are its very own members. So my vote will not go to PAP, these 5 being one reason.

I will never vote for anyone not born in Singapore.

Can't even tell the difference between a mere party member and one that the party puts up as a candidate to be the representative of the people? Now resorting to throwing m&d at every rank and file member while supporting a postage thief?

you won't understand cos' you too naive. i have seen even MP thinking that way, that is the impression that i have on him, is that they belong to pap and they think they are invincible, suka suka want to sue here and there. if he belong to opposition party, will he dare say such thing. think again...

hahaha...if you look at past records......you will know that many MPs and even ministars were not Papee members.
Most of them just parachuted into the party before each GE.

Just because people don't want to listen to your conspiracy bullshit, you make such acquisitions. You're the naive one coz you're the BEng taxi driver.

Multi millionare businessman David Leong from Braddell CCC will be the next pap face to watch.

Comes as no surprise. Birds of a feather flock together. Takes a certain kind of bird to roost on certain kind of trees.

The joke is that these people think that being accepted as a YP member means that they are of a better calibre than others. :p

To late bro. The first FT voted into Parliament as a PAP MP was in 1985 and was new migrant from HK. Aline Wong came to Singapore as her husband got a job here. She eventually became minister of state.

The second case was Peter Chen a Malaysian who was former Shell Head, who was to replace Richard Hu. To run for election, a became a Singaporean a few months. He has been working in Singapore for decades but did not feel the need to take up citizenship until approached to run by PAP. He spectacularly bombed out after one term.

By then one realises that NS and all that nationalistic bullshit has little value in Singapore.

I will never vote for anyone not born in Singapore.

When I saw the thread I did wonder if people are aware that any clown or idiot can join the YPAP. Its a mass movement and there is no requirement. YPAP is very different from the PAP which is very selective of who they bring in. Many graduates and new citizens join the YPAP to network and seek out opportunities. Nearly 90% have no interest in politics. Some think that it is social and community entity.

Therefore expecting them to behave in a proper manner is either quite ambitious or people don't understand why YPAP was set up.

Achoo, someone talking about me.

Joining the YPAP is good for networking and business opportunities. You get to visit different countries with the Minister. Some however are selected for better things, higher profiles within the PAP organization. You also get to network with business and community leaders. It is a strategic step to your own prosperity.

There are some however who joined because of their belief in the PAP's philosophy. Not for the money, not for the opportunities but because they believe PAP is the best bet for Singapore's future. Of these, a portion have resigned because they believe PAP today has lost their capability.

the moment forummers see anything with the alphabets PAP, they'll just go berserk and blindly maul and whack mindlessly. they are like the horde from L4D...

if you notice in recent years, a number of new pap politicians are selected from ypap. the rest who are not interested in politics know that they stand to gain by joining ypap. there is nothing wrong with networking but is the attitude and what goes in their mind that is, taking and thinking pap will cover their backside if they flout the law. do you want this kind of leaders for our next gen? definitely not for me!
