Singapore is a small open economy fueled by foreign investors. If there is any country booming and their firms seeking to expand for revenue or diversification reasons, then Singapore will definetely stand to benefit. What Singapore needs to do is to further improve productivity levels and keep the country rich and spending. In that way, more foreign investment will be attracted which will further make Singapore richer.
I admire your optimism but you forget that Singapore is not a homogeneous society. Racial and religious tensions simmer just below the surface which will rip the country apart once the iron rule of Mr Knuckle Duster is no more.
One only has to look at the fate of Yugoslavia after the demise of Tito. The pace of the unraveling is open to debate but the eventual outcome is inevitable.
