You can get Spanish citizenship for S$250,000

You can see that even when in dire economic straits, many countries like Spain, Ireland and even the US, do not give out citizenship so easily. Citizenship is not treated as a commodity as it is in S'pore. Only S'pore appears to have cheapened citizenship to such an extraordinary extent by granting it to some people of dubious character and qualifications.

1 in 4 businesses are created by the Chinese in Spain and there are more than 165,000 living there. They are doing well despite the recession and if you are a Singaporean Chinese, you should be doing fine too.

PRC Chinese are now all over Spain and Portugal, even in towns, you can find a Chinese restaurant. The menus are almost always the same.

The professionals will do well everywhere.

But they are some who live under the shadow of the Chinese mafia.

I know of one particular sad case of Chinese who operates a general store and live in the hope of returning to China one day. He is saving hard. I learnt it is not just him. Chinese operated general stores are everywhere.

If you seen those PRC retiree tour groups in Spain, you will notice how they are picked up by Chinese drivers and stay in Chinese operated hotels and shop in Chinese operated shops. So, no surprise if the Spaniards are pissed off because after the government attracts Chinese tourists and offer them incentives, the Chinese sidelines the Spanish tour operators and run their own underground tourism industry.

This is a good lesson for Singapore.

This is because of the Schengen agreement.
Noticed many old European men with their PRC mail-order brides.

Barcelona, if not careful, can kena heatstroke binya.:o
That is why people stay indoor during the siesta. The heat is more bearable after 5pm.

[h=1]Spain offers residency to anyone buying a home worth more than £130,000 in bid to save its housing market[/h]
  • Spain has more than 700,000 unsold houses after real estate market collapse
  • New policy would see foreigners given residency permits if they buy houses worth more than 160,000 euros - approximately £128,500

Bro LITTLEREDDOT, I won't want to put good money after bad. :o :(

Unless one is so desperate to get out of Singapore. Then treat is at a sunk cost.

It is unlikely to see the same amount pumped in for many years to come.

Buy to stay, not for investment. :D

Please don't compare SG with cheap Spanish. Our citizenship requirements is $2M. Spain is not even half a mil

Please read the article again.. it says residency not citizenship. We give out residency freely to any foreigner who stays in Singapore longer than 3 months.
