Nobody gets the sack for eating fries free. The woman must have had issues with her performance and most likely absenteeism. Mac is not your Ah Beng shop but a major corporation. Supermarkets encounter these kinds of situation all the time where unethical parents encourage their kids to help themselves to food and sweats and when caught, tell the security staff that they had no idea.
