Let us be fair to the judge presiding over any minister's case. Michael Khoo, a former Senior District Judge and Head of the District and Subordinate court system, presided over a case involving opposition MP JB Jeyaratnam in the 1980s. Khoo dismissed most charges against Jeyaratnam, and fined him $1,000 for the one charge he was found guilty of. As this fine was insufficient for Jeyaratnam to lose his parliamentary seat, Khoo was demoted to an ordinary Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Attorney-General's chambers. He soon left public service for the private sector. No judge will dare to rule against any minister. Not just them, but any pappie planning to sue oppie!
