The irony is that Singaporeans are a multicultural hue of race, dialect and religion. Its people are the most cosmopolitan having raised over 2 centuries on a sea faring hub.

Obviously it cannot be something that is driven along ethnic or cultural lines. You would have thought a scholar with great academic credentials would have been able to convert that to human capital both in politics, govt and the private sector.

I am beginning to think that her selection was to fill the gender quota. I cannot thonk of any other reason.
