上周五，本地一个论政网站上刊登了一篇涉及已婚反对党议员饶欣龙，与一名已婚女子搞婚外情的报道，该名女子据说也是反对党的党员。消息迅速在几个论坛上传开。

饶欣龙的社交网站Facebook事后也充斥着网民的留言，多数人都要求他针对指控作出回应，并认为如果指控是真实的，那么，他就应该道歉，结束这场风波。

一些网民认为，既然这是一件私事，就应该让当事人私下处理。

但也有网民认为，饶欣龙是人民投票选出来代表他们的国会议员，应该为任何涉及道德价值观的事负责。

饶欣龙是后港区议员。去年的大选，在2万多个选民中，他获得65％的支持票。

事件对工人党打击大
一名熟悉工人党内部情况的反对党人士告诉本报，他相信工人党不会在这件事情上作出回应，因为这件事肯定对工人党造成沉重的打击。

不过，他不认为沉默是明智的做法：“如果没有这样的事，就应该出来解释清楚，如果有这样的事，就应该出来做个交代。饶欣龙是公众人物，更是一个领国家津贴的国会议员，他似乎欠新加坡人及后港选民一个交代。”
不过，他坦言，他初闻这件事时非常震惊。

“我认识男女双方，那个女主角的老公我们也见过，之前完全没有听闻他们之间有暧昧的关系。”

饶欣龙事件是一名自称与饶欣龙夫妇上同个教堂的教友，以中文电邮向媒体爆料后浮现的。

据《新报》了解，饶欣龙与妻子都是该教堂的教友，两人曾到该教堂牧师家中接受辅导。

被指与饶欣龙搞婚外情的已婚女主角，在本月18日以身份保密为条件，接受了《新报》的访问。

她说：“我希望你们不会透露我和另一位女士的身份。”

她并没有进一步说明事件，只表示会留待她所属的政党回应。

她告诉《新报》：“我不会证实或否认指控。”

这名女子已婚，但没有孩子。

《新报》也和她的丈夫谈过，但他也拒绝置评。

本月19日，《新报》记者在饶欣龙接见选民（MPS）的空档，就外遇传闻向他询问。

他专注聆听记者的询问后说：“我不愿意针对谣言置评。”

记者问他，如果传闻是假的，为什么他不立刻否认，他并没有回答。

饶欣龙的妻子当时也在场，但她也拒绝置评。

接着，饶欣龙说：“过去几年，我的妻子陪我经历了很多。她很体谅我，一直是我的支柱。”

当晚，《新报》记者也在工人党秘书长刘程强接见选民的时段对他提出询问，刘程强也说：“我不愿意针对谣言置评。”

爆出饶欣龙搞婚外情的论政网站，引述工人党网站负责人的话说：“我们需要仔细琢磨，如何回应传闻。”

但是，当《新报》联系这名负责人时，他不愿针对上述的回答加以说明。

饶欣龙夫妇所属的圣约播道会在回应媒体的询问时说：“这是私事，不愿置评。”

But being silent and run away reflects very badly on him as a politician.
