According to BBC, the man known as Yarlen was arrested on 19 October in the state of Gujarat after being on the run for years.

Yarlen was first arrested in 2013. The 30-year-old disappeared while on bail and went off the radar.

He allegedly used several different identities over the years to evade capture.

In 2013, wildlife officials linked Yarlen to two sloth bear carcasses that were found with their reproductive organs missing.

He allegedly consumes bear penis because his tribe believes that it can cure impotency.

However, hunting of wild animals is illegal in India and the law also applies to tribal communities.

The police reportedly discovered that the man harvests sloth bear gall bladders as well.

Independent UK states that bear bile, which is produced in the liver and stored in the gall bladder, has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. It is very valuable and is sold for a hefty price in the international black market.

Yarlen is likely to be charged with multiple violations of the Wildlife Protection Act
According to Daily Mail, the man admitted to killing a number of tigers, several sloth bears, as well as hundreds of wild boars, and peacocks.

Tigers and sloth bears are protected under Indian law as they are listed as 'vulnerable species' by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
