Yaacob Ibrahim to visit China from March 29-30

SINGAPORE : Environment and Water Resources Minister Yaacob Ibrahim will be in China for a two-day visit from March 29-30.
He will meet China's Minister for Housing, Urban-Rural Development Jiang Weixin at the third Ministerial Committee Meeting of Water Collaborations in Beijing.
This follows a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed in 2007 - aimed at enhancing cooperation in the area of urban water resources between the two countries.
Dr Yaacob will also meet China's Minister of Water Resources Chen Lei to sign a new MOU on Cooperation in Water Resource Management.
Dr Yaacob will also visit Tianjin to view the progress of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city. There, he will meet Tianjin's senior officials to reinforce Singapore's commitment to the bilateral project.
Dr Yaacob will be accompanied by officials from his ministry, the National Environment Agency and PUB. - CNA/ms
