I came across "Xin Min Wan Bao" chinese newspaper yesterday. The bosses of Sheng Siong, Mr Bean, Qian Hu and Jean Yips all admitted to have kept low profile and believe in thrift lifestyle despite being wealthy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are reasons why many of these bosses do not wish to flaunt their wealth or spend excessively because they need to pay wages to their workers, maintain good company cashflow, and set good examples as an unboastful leader. These businessmen believe hardship get to their current status and may constantly worried about their businesses not sustaining in bad times and workers not getting paid. Thus they spend with cares in both business or personal life and most importantly humbled by their competitors. Mr bean felt that doing good deeds to help the poor are most rewarding. His noble act alone will put some of our ministers to shame.
On the other hand, Perm Sec Tan Yong Soon does not have the same concerns as those of private sector businessman. His job is secured, his high salaries/bonuses are unterrupted in good and bad times, he feels richer every time he receives his bank statement. He has no worry about his workers not getting paid or company not surviving. There is no worry about being loss-making because the budget for him is a gift casted in stone every year. His life is fully protected by taxpayers money and his salaries may even surpass many businessmen out there. With the luxury of such conducive job which is economy-proof, he became a complacent person with crutch mentality. In good and bad economy, his expensive perks are protected.so that he can heed no one by publicy flaunting his lengtty paid holiday for very expensive cooking lessons.
Same goes to Charles who defended TYS by calling hardworking Singaporean a lesser mortal and Josephine implying us as lesser stocks.
All the above who boasted and crtiticed humble Singaporeans are tax suckers, govt people who used their wealth to betray and bribe 66.6% votes. If these are the people whom LHL is trying to nurture, we are doomed for good.
