Workers' Party Chairman Sylvia Lim filed an adjournment motion this afternoon for the next Parliamentary sitting, titled "Safeguarding the Public Interest in Town Council Management". Parliament resumes on Monday, 14th January.

Finally, after always sleeping and idling in parliament for over 1 year, Vichy WP the self-styled “Co-Driver” wakes up from their wheel and decides to slap their PAP Co-Sleeper.

Perhaps, this is the very first time in history that Vichy WP manages to discover some tiny bits of balls to file an adjournment motion in parliament. Vichy WP has never ever bothered to file any motion on almost on every national issue, including all the PAP scandals, $5b to IMF, etc. This is truly a historic moment to be forever treasured.

铁树开花,哑巴开口。
公鸡生蛋,太监生鸟!

If the all cyberspace bloggers and ordinary citizens have not sacrificed their time and effort to expose PAP and doing all the ground work for them, would Vichy WP ever dare to stand up against PAP, for the very first time in their life?

Vichy WP only now then begins to “safeguard” the Public Interest of Aljunied-Hougang residents, after more than 1 year. How can the Public Interest possibly be safeguarded after over 1 year and after PAP had transferred all the software to their company? Vichy WP Town Council financial mismanagement could have been avoided if Vichy WP had not chosen to act blur and keep quiet for over 1 year.

Why didn’t Vichy WP file that motion back in June 2011 when the incident first took place? Why now? Why only after PAP has slapped them with the TCMR in December 2012? If the PAP had not slapped them with the TCMR, would Vichy WP bother to speak up for the people to safeguard their Public Interest?

Is Vichy WP trying to send a clear message to PAP that: “You don’t touch me, and I don’t touch you; You don’t kacau my local issues, and I don’t kacau your national issues”? Perhaps, Vichy WP is sending a warning to the PAP regime not to violate their Non-Aggression Pact again.

Is Vichy WP using the Public Interest of ordinary citizens as bargaining chips and expendable pawns in their power play with the PAP regime? To be discarded when not required but called upon when their party Private Interest is threatened?

Instead Vichy WP has traded the Public Interest of Aljunied-Hougang residents in return for a backroom deal with the PAP regime to safeguard their party Private Interest.

Before they win a GRC you'd say that 1 Hougang seat is only there for bai sui.

When they win a GRC seat you'd say they idle fuck in parliament, and not whacking the PAP.

Now they are finally whacking the PAP, you'd say they are idling too long. (but nobody talks about "too late" because we know that's ridiculous).

If the goal post keep on changing how will the ball ever go in?

Their first world parliament slogan is glaringly silent after the GE.

WP is safeguarding their FMSS deal back in 2011. Now that everyone has forgotten about it, they dare to make some noise for the sake of getting more deals for FMSS if they win PE

The original adjournment motion was a curious thing for me. Why on earth would WP want to contest a by election and fight that AIM / town council battle against the PAP at the same time? You never start a war on two fronts.

It will be hard for the WP to campaign on the town council issue, because a lot of things could be said in the heat of battle that would end up with them getting sued. So they will have to discuss other issues. Thankfully so much water has flowed under the bridge between the last 2 months that the WP will not run out of things to talk about.

am sorry..nothing sensational..in fact, very good tactical move..they are lying in wait to see the result of the investigation and then comment further..the adjournment motion had prompted LHL to make his move..

many here forget that Sylvia Lim is a lawyer by profession..and she is simply applying her skill sets in this matter...

WP is right to withdraw the motion, but it isn't so good to say that it is because of PM's promised review.

The AIM issue can be something to talk about at the PE by election. By saying that, WP may find it difficult to speak on the issue at rallies.
