For me I rather pay $500 for old singer then $200 for a young singer the reason is simple , can bring back good memories . Can connected better to older singers then those new ones .

When you get older, in order to reach the higher registers, you need to sing in a softer voice so as not to overstretch your vocal cords which have already lost some flexibility. Karaoke singers typically shout at the top of their voice which is not good for the highs. I think that is what Fei Yu Ching is trying to do - maintaining the highs.
