I believe it will. By adding the number, means you are able to accept or receive msg or call from them, logically, your number appear in msg or call to him/her.

I think what he means is that will his contact show up on the other party's contact if he added his contact. Oh course if he msged him his contact number will be revealed but if the other party didn't save his number he won't know who wa him

With phone number given out, you can't stop all the nonsensical SMS, cold calls and "wrong number" calls from hitting you. With Apps like Whatsapp and LINE, I can have greater control. People whom I don't like I can just block.

So I rather all my contacts have my Whatsapp or LINE instead of mobile phone number.

very easy. just go to settings under whatsapp, go to account, privacy, and select last seen, profile photo, status for either "my contacts" or "nobody". or, if you think this guy will spam you, go to blocked and add new to add him into blocked list. it's all in your control.

If I switch everything to "nobody", according to the discussion so far, my phone number will still be exposed to the party who is in contact with me via Whatsapp.
