The Japs were half the size of Brits when they overran Malaya and Singapore. The Yanks were twice the size of Japs and triple their manpower and war machinery. No nuke, no surrender. That's the Japs.

but the imperial navy of japan at that time is like 5 times the size of brits. without air cover and navy support, those brits are there to die.

It is a great mystery why Japan will invade USA, which is much stronger than them

If they didn't, all of the sinkies will be typing in Japanese now

The Royal Navy was bigger, but mostly tied up in North Atlantic and Mediterranean by Germany and Italy. It was this experience that resulted in the post-war decision to decolonise as amicably as possible. Britain hadn't enough resources to be overstretched like that.

The Royal Air Force was bigger too, but of course tied up in homeland defending against Germany (Luftwaffe) which was even bigger.

US and Japan had no air forces like RAF or Luftwaffe then. All Japanese airfighters were navy carrier-borne. All US airfighters were navy carrier-borne or army support aircrafts (USAAF). USAF was founded after World War II.

Jackson Tai lookalike.... formerly dbs ceo.

1) American banks froze all japan companies funds sitting in USA banks at that time

2) America and Japan had an agreement for USA to supply Japan steel through out WW2 (Yes, that is even when they all have taken sides, allies and axis powers), and USA defaulted

3) America WANT the Pearl Harbour incident to happen, although they never really publisize the above 2 points like how they publisize how humane USA armies is in Band of brothers.

How i know? go google "Zeigeist Movement"

It is a great mystery why Japan will invade USA, which is much stronger than them

oh US navy was smaller than japan at that time of the pearl war, japan want to destroy the aircraft carriers in pearl harbour.

but US knew they are coming, so they move out the aircraft carriers, with the aircraft carriers, they defeat the japanese imperial navy.

before pearl harbour , USA navy is smaller than japan, so japan have chance to win. but after pearl harbour, USA start massive production ship building, soon they easily outnumber the japanese navy.

How come when those Japanese footballers dye their hair like monkeys, they can play good football? Why our local footballers not only look like monkeys, they also play like monkeys too!

I'm seeing 2 - 3 threads on Japanese football and trying to figure out if anyone actually saw that match against Cameroons. Truth was Japan suxed and the match was one of the worst this world cup so far. To be fair Cameroon sux too but Japan was even worse

Just to illustrate how BORING that match was, here are some stats
Shots(on goal)
Japan 3(2)
Cameroon 9(2)

And just to illustrate how much Japan sux even against a Cameroon team who were running around like headless chickens
Prossession
Japan 43%
Cameroon 57%

Stats taken from Soccernet

Seriously both teams cant seem to string more then 3 passes together. Japan GK lagi best, every goal kick will go straight out!!!!

I think that you mean USN 7th Fleet, not the entire US Navy, which was big enough to blockade all oceans of world if it wanted to. The Pacific War was about US blockade of the entire Pacific Ocean against oil and steel shipping to Japan. Japan excused the undeclared surprise attack on Pearl Harbor by claiming, quite logically, that if US blockade, should be prepared for war.

The US never knew that. The absence of the aircraft carriers and capital warships during the raid were out of pure luck. For if they expected in advance, they would have laid ambush and all or none of the Japanese could return to their motherships, which would of be ambushed too.

The Japanese Navy, big as it was, was never as big as the combined USN fleets. It had two main fleets only, one to surround and defend Japan to ensure that Japan was uninvadable, the other with strike range through all Pacific Ocean. US Navy had and still has strike range all across the world. That's why through WW2, US mainland was uninvadable, whether by Japan from the Pacific side or by Germany from the Atlantic side.

It was after the Midway Islands defeat that Japan became invadable, safely within reach of US fighters and bombers as more than half of the Japanese Navy were taken out. Then for the first time, war came to Japan. It was too late for Japan to negotatiate for peace by then, as the US saw themselves in a sure-win situation, with or without the atomic bomb.
