Woody: 'I have no reason whatsoever to worry about Tin Pei Ling'

THE criticism of Ms Tin Pei Ling as a 'rather lightweight character' is a superficial view, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong said on Monday.

Acknowledging that Ms Tin - at 27, the youngest candidate the People's Action Party (PAP) has fielded for the coming general election - had come 'under tremendous pressure' recently, Mr Goh said that he nevertheless felt she was a strong person and he had made up his mind about her ability.

Saying that he would not change his mind about including her in his team to contest Marine Parade GRC, he added: 'I'm aware of the sentiments against her. (But) I have come to my own conclusions. I have no reason whatsoever to worry.'
