INDIA - A woman has been convicted for murdering her mother-in-law and husband to get insurance compensation.
Known as Nisha, she had initially stated that her mother-in-law's murder was an accident, Malaysia Nanban reported.
However, her father-in-law became suspicious when his son also died recently.
It was reported that Nisha, 30, lived in Faridabad, north India, and worked as an insurance agent. She was also having an affair with a 19-year-old.
Yearning for a lavish lifestyle, Nisha murdered her mother-in-law in 2009 with the help of her young lover and another accomplice. Police did not suspect foul play then.
Apparently, her mother-in-law had an insurance policy in which Nisha was the beneficiary. She had also taken up a policy under her husband's name.
Her father-in-law became suspicious when he was told that his son had died in an accident on Oct 10. He made a police report, which eventually led to the arrest of Nisha and her accomplices.
