Woman arrested for stealing mobile phone from shop

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 30-year-old woman suspected of stealing a mobile phone from a shop in Jurong Point Shopping Centre.
In the May 16 incident, the suspect allegedly took the mobile phone that was left on the shop's counter while the staff was not noticing, and fled.
She was arrested at her workplace in Jurong on Wednesday morning. Preliminary investigations also revealed that she was involved in other cases of cheating by personation.
The suspect will be charged in court on Friday. If found guilty, she faces a jail term of up to seven years and can also be fined.
