Actually I won't vote for them simply because the leader is a loser. Instead of looking at a mirror and reflect on how and why he managed to lose so many votes and so much support of the people since Chiam left the party, the loser now begs other countries for foreign intervention of our own local affairs.
We need an opposition, a creditable and strong opposition to keep the current government in check and take over the present ruling party if they screw up. Chee's SDP however is no where near being the opposition party that we seek.

I think an opposition party or coalition can only enlarge its share of seats in Parliament if they or it can convince the electorate that they can represent their interests and share the same goals as them.
Because of this, its probably paramount that policies and the party(or coalition)'s manifesto be focused, zero in, on domestic issues. Foreign affairs are largely ignored by most people in the heartland, except for Malaysia perhaps- because a lot of Singaporeans understand Malaysian stuff.
Only after the coalition has enlarged its share of seats in Parliament, then do they have the licence to talk about national security, and foreign affairs because that's where the right forum(Parliament) is the place to discuss such things. I mean, Singaporeans care more for their own bottomlines, and how much can they spend, and save.
