It has to do with nobody trust the PAP anymore, falling of integrity after the Lee family quarrel. I am sure those who supported LKY in the past were angry that LHL, & Ho Jin, bullied his own siblings and tried to alter the will of LKY's wishes by setting up mysterious committee. Everyone was freaked by the true color of LHL and his wife.
