I am rich and I can afford to pay my maid $4k a month. However, I don't do that because they are not worth that sort of salary. Rich chinks can pay whatever they can. Fools and their money are soon parted. Besides, chinks don't have a good reputation for paying their workers on time.
That's true to some extent.
But what's worrying is that some Singaporeans are getting desperate as they are unemployed and some are underemployed. There are suspicions that some elderly Singaporeans are committing suicide because they dont want to burden their families. If true, this is sad
