Unity as minority isn't a peculiarly Malay trait.

Chinese minorities in US and elsewhere do that too.

However the Malays have the added adhesion of a common religion.

Mainland Chinese are more co-operative than Sinkie Chinese. Sinkie Chinese, typcial Singaporeans, have grown to mind threir own biz becos of they are under dictator LKY. Fear of gahment split the people and people tend to keep to themselves. Honkies and mainland Chinese do interact among themselves if one come from the same provinces or dialect group.

Singapore Chinese need to get rid of LKY and his cronies so the people are free from fear of expressing themselves among their peers. Already the 5 or more than 5 people gorup together is illegal in Singapore so how to get along among the Chinese people.

I am always under the impression that Malays are one of the easiest race to please, give them some cash handouts before elections, build mosques for them, be sensitive to their food wants and the vote is pretty much secured.

Mainland Chinese are in a "foreign" land so they are cooperative. I suppose if you put a bunch of Sinkie Chinese in Sudan or Zimbabwe, these Sinkie CHinese will be cooperative among each other.

It still does happen in a few BN states, especially the undeveloped states (Negri Sembilan, etc).All UMNO has to do is to talk about Malay's deservedly special rights before elections. Luckily, the people in KL and Selangor are slowly opening up to the lies and tricks of the BN, with the help of the internet.
