Why we should eat organic

I used to eat canned baked beans on a regular basis but nowadays I'm more health conscious & avoid all canned foods. I eat to live & not live to eat:) A big part of my diet is whole meal bread, eggs, cheese, lettuce, mushrooms & tomatoes. I do have some Koka noodles for emergency but I try not to eat too much because I want to minimize my salt intake.

My usual instant noodles are Maggie and Myojyo. I thought all instant noodles are unhealthy quick fixes. What's the difference with Koka? I've never tried that before. People usually say avoid soya bean products to avoid sodium. Doesn't baked beans carry lots of sodium and isn't baked beans canned too?

Is cheese healthier than butter and margarine? I recall you also said butter is healthier than margarine. The common perception seems to be butter being the unhealthiest and fattiest.

There isn't organic or not for fish. I guess just buy fish that are from the sea and not farmed. More natural but with the pollution and radiation, I'm not sure how safe it is anymore.

They are already finding mutated sea animal after the Japan incident.

i read somewhere that farmed salmon are actually fed something to give them the pink that they lack (found naturally in wild salmon). ya it's really not easy to eat healthily with all sorts of things going on these days. :(

Hehe. Fish and animal I don't know. Fruits and vegetables know a little bit. The thing you mentioned is known as color additives.Depending on type of crops, additives are added at different stage of time. The term 'organic' food has been misused. Many so called organic farms still used different types of 'organic friendly additives', and the point is these are still additives. Hydroculture farming is the easiest to add these additives and whole process can be even computerised.

Real organic food products are usually very dull in color and smaller than those with additives. Not sure if any one remember the color and size of tomatoes in the old days. It was less red and much smaller. But today, it's almost the size of an apple liaoz. Reason is farmers sold the crop by weight.

...

The only meat I eat nowadays are fish, eggs & venison. The best fish are the ones caught from the wild but it's not always possible so I make sure to get detoxed regularly to reduce the mercury, PCBs,... found in fish.
There no way we can avoid all those chemicals out there. So it's important to detox.

I took advantage of the special to order something called Raw Meal, http://www.iherb.com/Garden-of-Life...Meal-Replacement-Formula-2-6-lbs-1-2-kg/22342
It's suppose to be very good but has a vile taste:D The shipment should be arriving soon.

detox with chlorella? i generally try to go for smaller fishes but dunno if that's good enough.

i ordered two bottles of the miracle reds u'd recommended and quite a lot of stuff in separate batches to enjoy the free shipping.

I read that the soil in China has been polluted with man made pollutants When crops are grown in it, it becomes part of the vegetable. So I take steps to avoid produce from China. Until China cleans up their environment it would be prudent to avoid avoid their produce. Just to be on the safe side :o

I make smoothie every morning mix vege and fruit

Avacado, bananas, strawberry, raspberry, blueberrie, blackberry, orange, apple, mango, pineapple, papaya, cillantro, celery, tomaotoe, kale, cucumber, cut them up and freeze for next day use, add unsweeten soya bean milk, with a teaspoon of fish oil and vitamin B.

For soup it is a mixture of different vegetables just boil with water no salt or flavour added, nature flavour soup is sweet.

Koka noodles do not have msg. They also have less sodium. Most canned foods have high levels of sodium & the problem of bpa. I doubt that the Chinese are concerned about the health implications of bpa. You can read about the dangers of bpa here, http://www.thehealthyhomeeconomist.com/update-organic-canned-food-loaded-with/

Soya beans are actually healthy. It is the genetically modified beans that you have to careful about. The problem with high sodium is is caused by the caning processed & not with the soya bean itself.

Butter has been around for centuries & back in the old days heart problems were rare. The same with cheese.
The problem is that meats nowadays are treated with hormones & antibiotics. You also have the problem with transfats which was created in the laboratory. You will find that many of the food producers from Europe, Australia ... are advertising that their products are transfat free. There is alot of lterature out there about the dangers of transfats also commonly known as margarine.

Johnny, even if Koka don't have MSG, still got other artificial flavoring lah.

What you can do is use your own flavoring. I used a mixture of fried garlic oil, oyster sauce or soya sauce, chilli powder, 5 favour powder, ketchup/chilli sauce and black vinegar.

Miracle Reds is a good product. Since I started taking it I've noticed that I don't suffer as much from edema & it has contributed to regularity in the little room:o

We are constantly facing pollution e.g. air pollution, chlorine in water, chemical pollution, etc. Exercising which makes us sweat is a good detoxifier. Chlorella is good at getting rid of heavy metals. Other things that people can consider is essiac tea & parsely. People usually think of essiac tea as an anti-cancer tea. However it is a mild detoxifier & you can drink it as a tea on a daily basis.

For anyone having unexplained health problems. A simple solution could be to detoxify. I know someone who had good experience with Bioray products, http://www.iherb.com/Search?kw=bioray&x=0&y=0 After taking one of their products a rash that they had disappeared after only a few days.

Good suggestion. There are always healthier alternatives even in an emergency or when you don't feel like cooking

For snacking I keep some dates or figs in the refrigerator & they keep very well. If you want to live longer it has been shown that eating in moderation is healthier than stuffing yourself with processed foods.

You can easily implement the principles advocated by the Budwig diet by using a hand mixer to blend flaxseed oil & cottage cheese AND then adding all the fruits you are currently already using.
The Budwig use of mixing flaxseed oil and cottage cheese transforms the omega 3 into a something that is easier for the body to absorb. It is used by those suffering from cancer but there is no reason why it can't be used as a healthy breakfast

I add yoghurt, strawberries, blueberries, cinnamon, walnuts to the basic Budwig mix & it is a very tasty mix since it is all natural:) If you don't like the taste of cottage cheese you can simply increase the amount of yogurt & fruits .
