What I really don't understand is why tiny Singapore also need mayors who already wear other hats! So many of them and all come with high salaries! Just no compelling reason for their appointment. Imho its worse than having so many 2nd ministers.

Indranee Rajah is the Minister in the Prime Minister's Office. She is also Second Minister for Finance, and Second Minister for National Development.

MOHAMAD Osman is Minister in the Prime Minister Office. He is also Second Minister for Foreign Affairs & Second Minister for Education.

In addition we have so many Ministers of State for these portfolios and all chobolan.

Makes you wonder if all these Second Ministers get a second salary and esp Sham who is the Minister for Law & Home Affairs get 2 salaries too??!!

Mayor job approx. $600K pa is just an Admin job, anyone could do the job.U don't have to be a rocket scientist to do the mayor job.

Even then….after becoming minister and then retire got chairmanship to serve on boards of GLCs like SIA, SingPower, DBS, CIAS etc etc until die.
