Why r Poodles charging bus driver when govt says it was Ah Neh's own damned fault???

Re: Why r Poodles charging bus driver when govt says it was Ah Neh's own damned fault

Won't the statement by the high commissioner to India undermine the prosecution's case?

The High Commissioner should be charged with contempt of court. Commenting inappropriately on a matter that is sub judice thereby interfering with the due process of the law. Shame on him!

That's what I was alluding to. However, you chose to concentrate on the issue of inadmissible evidence.

I answered precisely the question which was asked, no more no less, which was will his out of court statement hurt the prosecution's case.

Anyway, any update on this http://www.smu.edu.sg/news/2012/05/18/contempt-court-bill-be-tabled-year

It's now coming to the end of 2013 and if the bill is still not yet tabled, Mr. Shammugam has a productivity issue, putting aside the question of whether or not to consult the Law Society on the contents of the bill.

You're confusing the issue. The government did not assign blame to the bus driver. It was the police who have charged him. The government, through the High Commissioner to India, have actually pronounced him innocent. Therein lies the controversy.

That the ridiculous part of the law that all drivers will get charge for killing pedestrian regardless whose faults. It places all the burden on the driver to avoid a pedestrian, rather than making the pedestrian responsible for their actions.
