I am 100% convinced that had it not been for Najib, Malaysia would have retained the railway land in Sinkieland.
What happened to the former railway land now?
1) Northern parts: land grab for 'developments': Choa Chu Kang, Sungei Kadut and Woodlands.
2) 'Rail corridor' in the middle.
3) Former Tanjong Pagar Railway Station: the building is in a deplorable condition, the PAP govt is more interested in building a new water pipeline through it. Go there and have a look for yourself.
