Why No Apple Store In SINGAPORE?

Profitability of the stores is of secondary concern to Apple. I broke my 3-year old Super Drive because I careless plugged it into a non-USB compliant port. I didn't have Apple Care but I went to an Apple Store, told them it was my own fault and asked them for a price estimate to repair the drive. They gave me a brand new replacement, latest model, at no charge, right on the spot. I challenge anyone to come up with a better advertisement for good service.

Singapore will have its store at some point, when Apple can be sure of reproducing this experience with a store staffed by Singaporeans.

The sad fact is that Apple employees working in Spore have to justify every dollar they spend. Even the Applecare representative who has the final say in Spore has to justify her decisions to her superiors for any replacements she authorises.

What people don't understand is that there is a difference between Apple USA and Apple South Asia:rolleyes:
Those under Apple USA get the big bucks while those working under Apple South Asia face "constraints"

Bro, the service and aftercare is universal. The whole thing is built within the price. The regional chaps only have manufacturing remit and nothing to do with retail or aftercare.

I am sure that there will be store In Singapore within year. Wheelock seems ideal as they need 2 stories.

They may try to replicate the 'customers experience" but they will face obstacles such as finding enough qualified people personnel willing to work there:rolleyes: Yes, they can easily hire filipinos, PRC, etc but how many "Sporeans" are willing to forego a career:confused:

At the most I suspect you will find Spore part-timers during the school holidays:)

Not many know this but there is only a "single" person in charge of all Applecare issues in Spore. This single individual has to field all customer issues in Spore. There is also an individual in Malaysia looking after Malaysia & another one in Thailand.
While their primary responsibility is to drive after customer they also need to drive sales numbers of those extended care packages i.e. Applecare retail packages you find being sold at authorised stores.

Apple is a highly leverages company. Even those who are suppose to look after customer issues have to meet sales numbers.
With so few headcount available customers shouldn't expect miracles. I doubt the Apple Store experience can be extended worldwide, because of the limited reources.

Is HK still the cheapest place to buy Apple products now? Few months back i knew it was THE place
