And what exactly do you expect him to do personally? Sing you a lullaby?
The haze issue is pretty recent. Can't remember ever seeing it in the 70's or even in the 80's.
.
Palm oil as a cash crop for multinational corporations only took off in Sumatra in the 90s.
At least one of the firms is listed on the SGX.

Yawn, still playing lame clone games? Once a chickenshit, always a chickenshit...
The hard truth is the haze is around since 1998..the Asian crisis...and problems started once Singapore govt gave refuge to their corrupt Indonesian officials who park their ii-gotten money here...
Indonesian has make it a point not to relent and punish SINGAPORE ,on the quiet .

Singapore is not giving refuge to the CURRENT batch of corrupt government officials.
Rather, it is more likely that Singapore gives refuge to Suharto's family, Suharto's cronies, and other former corrupt officials linked to the Suharto regime. This regime lost power in the late 1990s and there was nowhere they could hide, so they came to Singapore. It is a known fact that LKY and Suharto were very close, and LKY was understandably distraught when Suharto was ousted through street protests.
It is thought that there are still billions of dollars of Suharto's own money parked in Singapore, even though the man himself is now dead.
The Indonesian government has made requests for Singapore to hand over the money, or at least disclose how much money there is, to aid them in their investigations of corruption. However, Singapore has steadfastly refused, claiming that they cannot violate the principle of confidentiality.
Obviously these billions are still parked here for the benefit of his family and cronies. Is Tommy Suharto still in jail? I would not be surprised if he came to Singapore to buy a luxury penthouse in Sentosa Cove after being released. I would also not be surprised if he attempted to open some kind of business in Singapore, like a KTV or a club (maybe buy over Mink)??
Hawker spat and dengue can't even contain want Indonesia to identify company behind the burning.really dun now what to say about him.
tis burger try 2 act tuff, wayang la ... he noes indon wud not gif him anyting ...Hawker spat and dengue can't even contain want Indonesia to identify company behind the burning.really dun now what to say about him.
Since we are on this topic, I seriously do not know why the Singapore government has always been friendly and willing to provide refuge to corrupt leaders and crooks. Suharto is not the only example. Chen Shui Bian's money is also in Singapore, he can come here and enjoy life the minute he is released from jail. Singapore has also been known to do business with the Myanmar military leaders (not just the current moderates but also the hardline military junta generals from the past). And even Robert Mugabe has frequently been seen in Singapore seeking "medical treatment" -- more likely he came here to stash away his corrupt billions in our "secret" banks.
Firstly what conceivable reason is there for us to keep friendly relations with individuals like that? Cannot be public policy grounds, right? Surely it has something to do with their personal relationships with certain individuals in our establishment. We all know LKY and Suharto were extremely close when Suharto was still alive.
Secondly why does our local media NEVER report all of this stuff, there seems to be a black out on such issues??
