the real reason could be pap is now facing eminent defeat. more opps could now dislodge existing mps. they might slowly progress to be opp ministers. hence the need to replace ministers after the most 2 terms.

As long as LKY remains, GCT is needed to 'legitimise' LKY's continued presence in Parliament. I am pretty sure GCT himeself is aware of this. Leave out GCT and LKY's got to go.

As long as LKY remains, GCT is needed to 'legitimise' LKY's continued presence in Parliament. I am pretty sure GCT himeself is aware of this. Leave out GCT and LKY's got to go.

He obviously said that to cover himself. But it also makes one wonder whether there is really some internal discontentment.

Internal discontentment etc can only benefit S'pore. Then we will witness real debate over policies etc. Complacency will mati when LHL face-off with GCT. Real competition is needed. Badly needed.
