2 countries are main contributors for too many men, China and India.

China has a tradition of having the male carrying on the family name and having a boy is up-most important to Chinese families. With the 1 child policy in place, families starts abortion if they detect it is a girl. This leads to unbalance ratio between men and women.

India's reason is different. The female family pays the wedding bill and dowry. so you are rich if you have a boy and get ready for bankrupcy if you have a girl in the family. so Indian families also start aborting their babies if they found it to be a girl.
