just accompanied housemate to hospital as she has a gall bladder surgery. she was very worried and red eye. i kept consoling her it's a simple ops as the specialist had said and she will be fine after 1 hour or so as it's a simple key hole surgery... after i gave a a hug and a kiss on her cheek she went into the theatre...

then now i think i quite hypocritical because if it's me, i also scared correct....that's why i think i am always optimistic when advising others but if it's me i will be pessimistic

You are not hypocritical. You are just showing empathy without having experienced it yourself. In other words, you lacked the substance, and the person at the other end would not feel empowered by your advice.

You are not unlike pastors in general - they are just as ignorant as the sheep they pastor, just as weak as the sheep as they pastor. The male sheep see abalones like Superman sees kryptonite. The male pastors see chiobus will also mari kita. However, you are one notch up against the pastors. You are honest in being able to self-reflect.

we r housemates, not lovers.
I expect her to be unwell in the next few days. She is unlikely to smoke, unless u allow her to smoke in her bedroom. Because of that, she will have withdrawal symptoms. All the best to you!

oh, by the way, she will likely be braless when u take care of her in her room.

No mortal has the ability to predict the future. In your case, although such minor surgeries are often successful, 99% most of the time, it is the 1% that most are frightened of, not just your housemate, but even yourself, of medical complications that may arise during surgery or later....thus the pessimism, of the unknown 1% chance...

Rather than to be pessimistic, to dwell upon that 1%, such would only make each other become even more fearful, in tears & hugs for comfort. It would serve no good to anyone, weakens the mind & eventually the body self healing systems.

As you are medically well, your housemate whom is in pain, seeks for comfort, assurance, guidance & critically hope from you - a close friend. And it is hope that gives birth to courage & optimism, to dwell instead on the 99% of chance.

Such is NOT false hope, as it is proven that most go thru such med assistance & survive well. Thus have courage & hope always, & to share it with rest of Humanity whom need such to go thru painful times....
