Why has Malaysia failed to develop into a first world country like Singapore?

US also take control of other seas. China just follow and being a superpower and rich, they did what US did.
China became rich just recently. It was rich before but screwed up, became communist and only created wealth when they embrace capitalism and free market economics. So its the gomen policy that determines the fate of its people.

1. Bumiputra policy - no incentive to work hard
2. Corruption
3. Feudal system of kings -> patronage instead of meritocracy

Similarly Sinkie too

1 Chinese first policy and that 75% chinks to remain at any cost including imports of jiu Hu kia and Tiong

2 corruption , not only by Govt monopoly from what you eat till you die but what they buy for defence under the pretext of security ...not to mention PM wifu in charge of all our monies

3 Worse than feudal system where just 1 famileee rules Sinkie for 60 years

Mudlaysia never want to be 1st world.

This types of name calling are BE ways of degraded u into poor peasants.

Malaysia will be more prosperous if the Malays get more capable Chinese into government. shared prosperity for all races.

Not recently. Is long ago. Eventually, they will realise that they need to open up or else how they gonna feed their 1.4b people. Deng seek LKY advice and the dragon awaken. So all thanks to LKY?

It's all the British's fault obviously.

If only they had the gumption to kill off the indigenous species like in Australia and new Zealand then this part of the world would now be an economic power house rivalling China

This issue has always puzzled me. None of the traditional reasons people usually cite convinced me why Malaysia lags behind despite numerous natural advantages.

After years of deliberation, I’ve settled on a theory that makes the most sense to me. But first, let’s take a little detour and examine the popular reasons proffered—and why I don’t think they properly explain the lack of development.

Singapore has number 1 leadership and rest people sheep.
Malaysia has many wants to be number one leader so infighting last decades and country suffering.
While Singapore leadership or group of leaders unchallenged by majority sheep.
So everything tight control and rules make Singapore prosperous

Yes, but you missed the biggest problem of all. That is Islam. With majority including the royals and government adhering of Islam, which is a backward religion, that is the biggest obstacle stopping them from advancing into first world.

Why than chinks migrated to Malaya ?

it was a Muslim nation more than 1000 years ago

Malay peninsula had their sultans and royalties more than 1000 years ago

According to a history in 1459 CE, the Emperor of China sent a princess, Hang Li Po, to the Muslim Sultan of Malacca as a token of appreciation .The nobles (500 daughters of ministers) and servants who accompanied the princess initially settled in Bukit Cina and eventually grew into a class of Straits-born Chinese known as the Peranakans.

Even chinese emperors bowed and kowtow to the Muslim m&ds

You do know that in the old days, not all Malays were Muslims. There were Christians and Buddhist too and that is why there were Peranakans. Only in recent history that Muslim hijacked the Malay race and claim it have to be Muslim to be called Malay. Look at Indonesia. There were dark skins Javanese who are Christians, Buddhist and Muslims. Only Malaysia hijacked the race and tie it to a religion following the Jews.

I certainly Know the Malay peninsula better than any one in this forum or most Malaysian or Indonesians themselves , not only I have been to every nook and corner of this region but know almost all natives of different specimens and the current political situations as well as human migration to this part of the world

and you are wrong , most certainly wrong

firstly, chinks came crawling hungry and without much clothes on them to this region simply out of desperation while 180 millions of Cheenas were dying of hunger in China

secondly , chinks concentrated in port areas during their arrival and stayed there too , so , there would not have fraternised much with natives who are not Muslims , this is proven so even in today’s context since the bulk of chinese concentration in peninsular Malaysia is Penang , Malacca and Singapore , all port cities

even in Indonesia the bulk of chinks concentration was in Palembang historically ,a port city , that preceded malacca sultanate ,the only exception where chinks in numbers that was not a city is in Pontian in Kalimantan but there again they remained only farmers and quite backwards too

Singapore is a first world country?

During Lee Kuan Yew's term as prime minister from 1959 to 1990, his administration curbed unemployment, raised the standard of living and implemented a large-scale public housing programme. The country's economic infrastructure was developed, racial tension was eliminated and an independent national defence system was created. Singapore evolved from a dying nation to first world status towards the end of the 20th century.[2]
