He's Czech, his whole family escaped when there was still the iron curtain. Even though he's now living in Canada, he still very careful of what/how he says.
I see. Thank you for sharing his tale. Well, the plus side would be that because of his extra prudence with his words and actions he makes less adversaries and get to enjoy some kind of a longevity?
But anyhow I still think he should let go a little. This world is unpredictable anyway, and the people (I mean the men on the ground) who keep guarding and guarding, are usually the same ones who get attacked and attacked all the same or even more, and ironically are also the same ones who get hit first compared to those who are more liberal (though not totally) in their defenses.
Not a great way to live a life really. I should think they have mental issues too, like that guy I heard who attacked one of your local politicians who heavily padlocked the door to his house.
Got that idea from a motivational book I read so many years ago. The writer said something like "people normally defend when they are being attacked" or something like that, and that the more you defend the more you'll get attacked.
