If he really wanted improvements he could start by spinning off the election department into an independant & non-partisan department.
Of course this will never happem & the wayang will continue.

Coat tail riding MPs are aplenty already but to show pappies care about democracy, they need NCMP in Parliament to make up the number. NCMP are nothing but just pseudo MP, not elected by the people, not coat tail riders either but parachutists, dropped into Parliament from the roof after vetting by pappies.

LKY said GRC to ensure minority representation in Parliament, and in the process of this myth, many pappies coat tail riders got into Parliament. When minority representation an issue in sinkie land? JBJ won Anson although he a kek leng kia in Chinese territory. Sinkies voted for candidate who had the balls to speak up for them, not by the colour of his skin.

Now LKY is dead and gone but his bullshit still remains.

NMP can be retained. Singapore is the only country in the world that appoints lawmakers. The USA cabinet consists of ministers who are not appointed.

NCMP should be scrapped. Why should the loser have any feel good prize? As the title suggest, PAP need to move on from LKY. They can't possibly be hanging on his image for the next election.
