艾尔沃德考察过中国的医院后，对中国投入之巨大印象深刻。他说，中国知道如何让新冠肺炎患者康复，他们下定了决心，这并非全世界都能做到。
艾尔沃德表示，新冠肺炎是一种很严重的疾病，世界其他地方的人们在面对疫情时， 首先要做的是改变自己的思维模式，学习中国专业的应对机制。
