Perspective morphed into another nick after someone (I think zeroo) went to post his picture and reveal his identity in this forum.

A lot of the old gang (pre-GE2015 gang) has vanished. Elephanto, kingrant, fook seng, kohlianthye, aurvandil, wwabbit, tanwahp, scroobal, QXD, locke, etc. Although locke is still active on facebook - wonder why he doesn't want to login here.

Fully agree with you.. The good Bros you mentioned contributed alot to this forum with their insights... Those were the days when I used to secretly turned on my personal laptop in the office to log in to SBF during working hours... Even Forummer Nelson gave us many laughters in the past with his gay leaning stories..

The delphi days in 07/08 were the most unforgettable for me. It was the time when political discussions were not so mainstream and we had many quality contributors who added wit and passion to the forum. We had guys like
Spearmint88, Thinkall, Dannyboy, Leeconyew, Samurai, MentisMorphis and PAP_Best (just to name a few). These guys disappeared into thin air after the split in 2008.

Sam leong doesn't want to admit the damage trolls like Leetahbar, ivebert and the effeminate poet do to the community here, but the effect is visible over time. Well, he's the boss here and it's his call

I think the climate for political discourse has changed over the years. There are more platforms for airing views meaning our Courtyard cafe is facing stiff competition from Facebook, stomp, Asiaone forums, HWZ etc.

Most of the old timers have also moved on with their lives and we must accept that.

I think we definitely need new blood in this forum. I have been spending time lurking at EDMW which I admit can be quite entertaining (sometimes it reminds me of the old delphi forum). How good would it be if we can somehow get them to try this place out...?

Any volunteers for a "cross over" project?

I can't match the marketing and technological might of SPH related social platforms plus the climate of fear is gone so the anonymity this forum once provided isn't needed anymore.

The mobile revolution has made things even harder for me to keep up. HWZ has white labelled apps specifically for reading and posting in HWZ. I tried moving the forum to discourse but the database was simply too big to import.

I could try starting from scratch on a new mobile friendly plattform but I don't have the energy or the motivation to see it through anymore plus my knowledge of the latest scripting languages is far too basic to be useful.

Most of us appreciate what you have done and are doing for us. This is a good place for gaining knowledge...TCCSing....sharpening our claws etc etc.
Of course you cannot compare this to the other online forums available....they have the machinery and vast resources available but you dont.
Regarding the impending demise....it comes to all of us eventually but at least you have lived life well and given others a chance to have a good time here.

Drifter was "caught" out over something about sharing his account with someone else in Singapore. Its been that long that I can't remember exactly what. He started making "clones" drifter-i and started bashing religious threads here and there. His activities has been down for a long time. Would help if he is back to his old self I suppose.

Thank you Leongsam. I am sure members here appreciate your efforts to keep this forum alive. More so after enlightening us on the many obstacles you face.

The govt should be thankful to you too. Your forum has kept some lunatics engrossed and away from creating a public nuisance of themselves. Some may even feel a sense of belonging here which they dont and cant in real life. The violent ones are able to vent their anger here instead of hurting people and damaging properties in the real world.

Yah kin leng ah hia, I more active in the overseas forum, Scroobal used to try and encourage that one as well. But Neddy, AXe168 also no longer there anymore. I just "lurk" around from time to time. Life moves on here for me. This, "claire" incident was also interesting. Whether zha bor or tah bor. Having more females here would also help. Maybe you can get some mei meis from hangflower joint to come in here?
