....copied from M'sia one except that the reasoning are different. M'sia collect toll to pay for the cost of road construction, whereas Sg collect toll to avoid cars from using the roads.

If I am not wrong, the ERP scheme is initially implemented for the CBD (Central Business District) only.Remember u have to buy CBD Coupons and stick onto your car windscreen to enter CBD during the Restricted Hours. But the MIW found that it is a good and easy revenue to tax from the motorists,so they just extend the ERP scheme to the WHOLE of TINY SINGAPORE,afterall it is good revenue and profitable to the MIW what and also nobody in Sinkeeland can protest and do or say anything against it BECAUSE 66.66% of GREEDY and COWARD SINKEES voted for the MIW BLOOD-SUCKERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But WHO is the main culprit to propose the ERP Scheme in Parliament,MAYBE (Please check again to confirm )he is Dr.Hong Hai who has already retired from politics to become a TCM Medical Practitioner.
this Dr. Hong Hai?
"Dr Hong also serves on the Boards of several listed companies, including IDT Holdings (Singapore) Ltd, China Merchants Holdings (Pacific) Limited, Macquarie Prime REIT Management Limited, Asiapharm Ltd, and Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation Limited."
If I recall correctly, Mah Bow Tan implemented COE and shortly thereafter suggested ERP to complement COE to regulate both car ownership and road usage, later implemented and expanded by Raymond Lim. It was supposed to be for the part of CTE in/out city and ECP in/out city during peak hours only. Now it's practically islandwide. Anyway with reported jam, up gantry. Anyway with gantry and still reported jam, up ERP.
they copied the idea from a firm in the u.s. which was trying to promote rfid technology for electronic toll collection. rfid was first sold to the military but was later allowed for civilian use. the first major use of such a system was in dallas in 89. met a couple of senior engineers from sg technologies (st engineering) in california in the 90's. they were here to scout out tech for use in such a system. they collected a lot of brochures and they gave me some of theirs - one of which mentioned a proposal for a limited "erp" trial. these folks in st engineering travel the world, find technologies they can use, package them in a proposal, integrate them as turnkey solutions, and market to sg gov entities, glcs and stat boards.
Who are these engineers? Where are they now? Which landed properties in Singapore they are living now?
they are banging some china chicks in geylang with their hard earned money.

Well as u can see ,the Ex-MIW MP can afford to retire from politics and take up TCM studies for 6 years to pass the TCM exams and qualify as a TCM medical practitioner at their own sweet time without any financial worries .Don't forget,Some ex-MIW MPs are also Directors of a dozen or more companies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!JUST Collect Director's fees already Jia Buay Leow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think there is any major policy over the last 50 years which has not passed through his desk?I heard from friends it was Kuan Yu...
