I think Eu Yan Sang is quite safe.

It's not about where to buy, but how to verify. If you are not a Chinese herbs specialist, there is no way you can verify if it's genuine. You have to count on the reputation of those big stores like EYS.

there is a short period of time EYS selling 冬虫夏草 2nd box at 50% if I remember correctly.
but hor I wonder EYS 冬虫夏草 is picked from wild or farming type.

The best is to double boil it with other herbs.example ginseng or birdnest.
But if u can take the taste eat it directly is better.u wash it cleanly.for better texture toast it for 3mins before u eat it directly.
First when u buy back always keep it in freezer.when can be kept for years.
To grind into powder there will be a wastage of 10%.to put into capsule another 10%.

I read another page that say best usage is 60 deg warm water use as a tea.
any higher temperature will destroy certain enzymes.
the page say the worms are coated with m&d and parasites actually.
ancient way is wash with yellow wine.
I wonder is eating raw will cause poisoning.

Someone close had problem with his kidneys years ago. Interestingly the doc advised him privately to take codycep besides the prescribed medication. He is ok now.
