What happened to the 6.9 population white paper?that was a government sponsored research paper,shoved down our throats,debated over vigorously in parliament,protested by thousands and thousands of singaporeans and ignored(biggest protest in the history of hong lim park),pushed thru legislation by over 70 mps in parliament.now all of sudden suka suka ai mai ai mai can flip flop and change the government policy?after all the lengths u go to shove it down our throats and up our ass with a 32 oz of diet coke and coke zero,pumped our stomach with water and jumped on it like japanese water torture to get us to accept it,after you so vehemently defended it because the PAP is always right and knows it all.

now suddenly theres a global recession and a genuine singapore depression suddenly u change ur mind?foreigners not going to create jobs after all?u were just riding the wave of prosperity and the height of your greed until it dumps u on the beach naked and without ur underwear?now all of a sudden u realise importing 100k garbage a year is not feasible after all?banks cutting jobs,companies cutting jobs,fnb retail oil n gas cutting jobs,7000 businesses going bust in sg in one year?apparently PAP thought bubbles will always go up,everything will always go up and never come down?

so what is PAP going to do about the population white paper?is it beneficial or detrimental to singapore now?or only when it suits the PAP?

i dont hope for this or that,i only hope that PAP keeps to their word,especially when they insisted upon it in the first place.they need to show their strength and absolute commitment,dont go changing their tunes and costumes like mighty morphin power rangers or transformers.

there was once when the immigration actually stopped altogether and population actually contracted was during the 2008 financial crisis when the global economy came to a grinding halt.this time i think the recession is going to be far worse for singapore than during the 2008 financial crisis,already u can see the economic slowdown has serious effects on singapore's economy.casino are announcing losses for the first time,many companies are annoucing contractions in their revenues in their quarterly report,tourism numbers from malaysia,indonesia and australia have fallen by nearly 25 percent,banks are in hot soup thanks to oil n gas sector and overexposure to china,retail and fnb are sluggish,company after company are annoucing losses,banyan tree,olam,we had ten good years of rapid economic and credit expansion and now the contraction cycle is about to begin,Singapore cannot support 100k new immigrants anymore, prepare for long and hard years ahead.

in good years,the PAP government can spend all they want,now the real fun is about to begin.
