The effect of civil service internet cut by LHL.
This also shows the number of civil servants visiting Sammyboyforum.com and Sammyboy.com

Most of the lurkers are sex perverts and mentally unsound. This is a sex forum in name only and not substance. Why are they camping in this forum?

I've been trying to.
Provocative topics and replies, but the number of active members is on the low side compared to previously. I remember you from delphi. :)

I would think the mentally depraved might be lurking here, but the sexually deprived would be at sammboyforum.

Yup, the mentally depraved such as ckmpd who think she can invoke the name of Lee Kuan Yew to make sinkieland great again. It's foolish and futile. We all know that the opposition is dead. Those who can leave the island already left. Those whose spirit is willing but the flesh is weak are resigned to poke fun at themselves over at edmw. Maybe in a few more years, this forum can be put to rest when the number of posters dwindle to zero.

This forum has always been driven by politics and the activity in this forum reflects the degree of fervor in the opposition camp.

Sadly the opposition has pretty much given up and the traffic here reflects this.

It was at its peak in the lead up to the 2011 GE when the opposition could smell blood and was going for the jugular.

Today most of the anti PAP brigade have pretty much given up. Even the opposition parties have all but pulled the plug. The PAP will easily coast to victory in the coming years without even trying and everyone knows it so what's the point of pouring ones passion into a post.

There are a few diehards and I thank them for their continued support.

I keep this forum going because life is full of surprises and we never know when it might be needed again.

??? This place has never been a sex forum.

depending on vpn, isp, and or browser used cannot stay logged in on sbf 24x7 after it's changed to https. either cookies get corrupted, deleted/removed by other ("security") software or vpn and or isp use dynamic or "mobile" (not static) ip address and constantly mess up your ott app login or session. or your tokens in memory cache expire every few minutes or so. if it's tough to stay logged in for decent or long postings, many will just post less and be guests watching from sidelines.

Are you saying that it would be better to suspend https and go back to good old days of just http?

I have had no problems staying logged on so I did not realise this was an issue.

The other forum has been https for more than a year and no issues staying logged for me either.

no, it's better to stay with https. for those with misconfigured in-memory cache time-out parameters for their tokens, they can easily reconfigure them correctly or to their preferences or have them debugged. for those with dynamic ip addresses such as via a private vpn or proxy, they can configure or submit their proxy addresses as "trusted" addresses as part of the acl pool in firewall policies. easy workarounds. problem is not with the site.

I know there are fixes but the average contributor is not going to know what to do. They simply say... "sammyboy.com" fucked up... keeps logging me out... lost my post etc.

In the era of mobile connections many members don't even know how to copy and paste a post url because the complete url does not appear on a mobile browser by default.

The age of the internet savvy operator are long gone. When I first started on the internet the majority knew how things worked. Now if it does not load on a phone people just go elsewhere or give up.

strange .. i didnt have problem with staying login too..
i am using firefox/PC... what browser/platform are u guys using?

that's the problem with users these days. everything has to be served on a silver plate. they don't bother to even check "internet options" anymore for explorer users. for firefox users since it's open source it's lot more helpful with tips and info from the mozzila community. fb is also receiving complaints about users getting logged off frequently, but they have an army of tech support to address user issues on a case by case basis. for me since i'm crowd jaga i do cum across issues with proxy and user ip mismatch and here's a resolution for crowd. can't 100% handle other cases as it's case by case depending on provider, browser and ott software.

Proxy Servers
If you are running applications behind one or more proxy servers then you may find it useful to configure Crowd to trust the proxies' addresses. When a proxy server forwards an HTTP request, Crowd will recognize the request as coming from the request's originator, not from the proxy server. This is particularly useful if you want single sign-on amongst several applications running behind different proxy servers.
Configuring a trusted proxy server means that Crowd will iterate through client IP address and IP addresses in the X-Forwarded-For header from right to left and pick the first IP address that is not a trusted proxy. The address is then used as the client's IP address.
To configure Crowd to trust a proxy server,
Log in to the Crowd Administration Console.
Click the 'Administration' tab in the top navigation bar.
Click 'Trusted Proxy Servers' in the left-hand menu.
The 'Trusted Proxy Servers' screen appears. Type the IP address or the host name of the proxy server. Possible values are:
A full IP address, e.g. 192.168.10.12 (IPv4) or 2001:db8:85a3:0:0:8a2e:370:7334 (IPv6).
An IPv4 subnet using wildcard notation, e.g. 192.168.*.*.
An IPv4 or IPv6 subnet, using CIDR notation, e.g. 192.168.10.1/16 (IPv4) or 2001:db8:85a3::/64 (IPv6). For more information, see the introduction to CIDR notation on Wikipedia and RFC 4632.
A host name, e.g. proxy.example.org. All IP addresses bound to the given host name will be trusted.
(info) Using host names will cause DNS requests to be sent, which might affect Crowd performance.
Click the 'Add' button.

safari, but my memory cache has issues on very old ipad. no problem on iphone 6 and new ipad. hope this helps.

btw, this problem existed with the sammyboy.com site on my memory-starving ipad pre-https, but not on the singsupplies site. that was site-related and i could not figure out why.

so far ok with android and browser on android after resolving certificate mismatch issue since i've not been using this platform to log in into sbf for a long time.

no time out issue. it will require re-login only if i change isp session from mobile provider to wi-fi provider and vice versa.
