The ruling Leegime's policies are bad enough since they screwed Singaporeans upside down but what frustrates me more is simple-minded Sinkies who fall for the same trap over and over again. They are too easily tricked by PAP giving them a cash package without knowing that PAP will raise GST after elections to get back the money.

what frustrates me about our elections are that nobody - PAP, Oppositions, Chee Soon Juan, majority of Singaporeans want proportional representation nor are even interested to talk about it.
IMO, PR rank above GRC changes in any electoral reforms.

Well, many Singaporeans are like that. They want Oppositions to win, but not willing to vote for it. For example as I have stated many times. Common excuses given for voting PAP.
'I want my flat value to go up'
'I want Upgrading'
'I vote PAP but I want the opposition to win'

What frustrates me most is the apathy, ignorance, cowardice and/or selfishness of most Singaporean voters.
Although I have disdain for some members of the government, I'm not as frustrated with them, because they are human. And if you offer 99.99% of humans a huge salary together with lots of power, they will take it. People who think that if the opposition parties take over the government and they will reduce their own salaries, are deluded.
It's up to the people and the voting population to keep government officials on their toes all the time, and get them working in the best interests of the ordinary citizen.

as stated before, I disagree with Proportional representation as its just a matter of getting political parties into parliament and does dont reflect the wants of the people. As a matter of fact, I do not like the Westminister system anyway.
Leaders are not elected by the people. the Political party of the day makes the decisions.
Also why should a Party with 10% vote get 10% of the seats? No make sense right?
In addition, how does the MP of the district get to understand and meet the needs of his constituents, if he knows he will get the seat because his party get the vote and he is head of the party?
It should be about the quality of the candidate not the political party.
Look at CST, he get voted into PP after he left SDP as its his reputation in PP. Not his political party. Its what he has done for his constituents.
Therefore to me, electoral reform should be, constituency determined solely by number of people. For example ratio of MP to constiuents is 1 MP to 100k etc.
Electoral boundaries determined by that and not all this gerrymandering crap PAP keeps doing.
Abolishment of GRC to above system
Maybe establishment of an Upper House (like senate) of 30 seats etc, that can be determined strictly by PR.
Pass the post system for Lower house is still the best amoungst a bad lot.

If those simpletons have the same thinking as you, we would not be so screwed.seriously those cash package is nothing to celebrate about....i always treat them as tax rebates...because if they give you 1 dollar, they will take 10 from you...and starts playing casinos at overseas location..
