Web hosting Expert? anyone?

I hosted game servers before, a 30,000k members forum, website and FTP, a half rack with 100mbs shared, cost me only $700 few years ago. Sure a forum no need $50,000 to maintain it...

It would be crazy for any company not in the business of hosting to set up their own server. It would be like a car owner setting up his own workshop to service and maintain his car.

If you're an oddball multi millionaire, you might want to do it as a hobby. Otherwise, it's best left to the specialists.

It doesn't matter how big a company is. It does not make business sense to set up a complete hosting infrastructure unless the company is intimately connected with web services eg Google or Yahoo or Apple.
