There is a verse in the bible that says "It is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks"! Getting laid may be something that's always on Miss Chong's mind. Therefore, the "F" word just came out of her mouth naturally.

since it's a female that said it and this is a rather sexist country it is ok for her to say the fuck word.

Take note acceptablility of usage of said word depends on the attractiveness of female in question. Therefore a very pretty female has more rights to use it whilst an ugly one has absolutely no right to use it.

SINGAPORE: The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is the first university in Singapore to be rated five stars under a new QS Stars rating system.

The new system is a comprehensive evaluation by Quacquarelli Symonds, an information provider for higher education that is behind the annual QS World University Rankings.

According to QS, a typical five-star university is generally world class in a broad range of areas, enjoys a high reputation and has cutting edge facilities and internationally renowned research and teaching faculty.

NTU joins an international league of similarly acclaimed universities such as Cambridge, Stanford and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that have also been awarded a five-star rating.

The QS Stars rating system examines institutional performance against a greater range of criteria than are included in any university ranking.

Universities receive an overall star rating out of five, but also receive individual ratings in 30 different areas covering research, employability, teaching, infrastructure, internationalisation, innovation, engagement, as well as their ranking within a specialist subject.

Managing director of QS Asia, Mandy Mok, said NTU has performed exceptionally well in all eight key areas.

It earned full marks for graduate employability, internationalisation, innovation and knowledge transfer, and community engagement.

It also achieved full marks in many of the criteria in the other four key areas.

Overall, NTU was given 948 points out of a maximum of 1,000 points.

NTU president, Professor Bertil Andersson, was presented with the QS Stars 5-Star certification at NTU's University Awards Dinner on Monday.

why should a newspaper carry an headline to ask its readers if that is acceptable or otherwise?
No wonder new paper is toilet paper since decades ago.
Instead the journalist should go ask NTU and do tons of interviews around the faculties and present poll results.

Is it a big deal with that fxxx word?
We heard them from conversations at cafes, canteens, shopping malls, concerts, libraries etc.
NTU or other varsities may remind their next graduates but hey, who knows kids may just take that as some attention grabber.

BUT, there are occasions that do not call it, with due due respects and basic courtesies, and that is 1 of them.
So what does it say a lot about NTU & her parents? It does say a lot.

Acceptable or not?

SINGAPORE - “CONGRATULATIONS to the graduating class of 2011. We f***-ing did it!”

Those were the parting words a valedictorian from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) left her graduating class with during their convocation ceremony last Friday evening.

In her six-minute long speech, Ms Trinetta Chong made analogies between the sections of her faculty and the different houses familiar to all Harry Potter fans - Gryffindor, Hufflepuffs, Slytherin and Ravenclaw.

The graduate from Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) also talked about her faculty’s achievements, and thanked her school and family.

Trinetta decided to save the best for last, rounding off her speech on an exhuberant, but bleep-worthy note.

The end of her speech was met with resounding applause from the graduates, with many getting on their feet to cheer her on, a YouTube video which documented her speech showed.

Was it a bold or brash move? YouTube viewers are divided in opinion over whether the valedictorian should have use the profanity.

“People need to calm down. It was THEIR graduation, THEIR ceremony, THEIR time. She can say whatever the hell she wants to say and I think what she said took guts and proved to be on the minds of most of the people there.

“She was a great choice for valedictorian. It was a speech straight from the heart!” said netizen azurenamz.

Another netizen markcenite, however, said he was “shocked and scandalised by the abominable language of wee youth”.

In an interview with evening daily Lianhe Wanbao, 100.3FM disc jockey Ms Anna Lim said it was not only undignified that such a word was used, but it was disrespectful to the audience, which consisted of professors and family members.

Valedictorians are top students elected by the graduating class, the NTU website said. They are nominated by the school in consultation with student clubs.

Besides displaying good academic performance, valedictorians should also have participated actively in extracurricular activities, including community service.

The valedictory speech “should inspire the graduating cohort as they embark on the next phase of their lives, and offer a reflection of accomplishments and times spent together with special mention of people who have played a key role during the programme of study,” NTU stated on its website.

The local Unis are a disgrace to the word 'Education'. They do nothing but churn out immature mentally ill kids like Trinetta Chong. Immature schizos like Trinetta Chong are just the product of 16 years of rat-race stressful schooling based on passing exams.

Most of the NTU or NUS graduates are losers whose feet are floating off the ground. They tell me they want to be bankers and make a million when in their whole life, they haven't even made enough money to cover their school fees before.

Most of them come from families where their parents are school dropouts. These kids need a good smack on their heads to wake them up from their nonsense.
