Re: Water Treaty Malaysia: The tremendous financial costs imposed on S'pore by LKY's
Who gives a flying fuck? Don't bring up dead men times lah. Whiner.

They have already started Nuclear research initiative in NUS. They have targeted to have about 100 nuclear scientist for future nuclear plant in Singapore. I think they have plans to set up research into this TMSR as one of the executive in Flibe-energy company was an ex-SAF airforce guy. Most likely he would have made some connection to present to the gov already.

There is a recent news report by Shit Times bragging about the fact that singapore is achieving water independence soon. As part of this article, the shit times revealed the cost of the various sources of water. As you know there are 3 water sources. rainwater from Johore under the water treaty. Newater and Desalination water. It turns out that Newater cost 5000 times more to produce then the treated water from Johor!! And Desalination water costs 17,500 times more to produce then the Johor water!!! Holy fuck, we are going broke just trying to produce water for ourselves, thanks to Old Fart's bloody ego and pissing contest with Mahathir. One idiot does not seem to realize that the other idiot had him by his short hairs. Even if Malaysia wanted 10 times more money for the raw water then what we were currently paying at that time, it would have been well worth it. this is a scandal and no oppo seems to have wanted to find out at that time, and Old fart was made out to be the hero for standing up to Malaysia's "unreasonable" demands, when in actual fact, he was the big villain.
What did Malaysia want?
In 1998, They wanted financial loans from singapore to help them out during the Asian crisis. Old fart did not give them the loans but later on, gave large loans totalling $10 billion directly to Indonesia, bypassing the IMF. Immediately, this got Mahathir riled up. More and more items were added to the water negotiations resulting in an unwieldy package. For example, Singapore wanted to add the ability of the RSAF to overfly Malaysian airspace on its way to the training areas in the south china sea, while malaysia wanted to talk about developing the parcels of land they owned in malaysia and the relocation of the tanjong pagar railway station. As well, the malaysians felt that the water sales priced negotiated by the Brits before they left was too low and water to open up the contract again. mahathir also wanted the CPF board to allow western malaysians to withdraw their CPF from singapore. Also added to the package later was the replacement of the Causeway by a bridge or underground rail tunnel. All these points are reasonable.
Not allowing western malaysians to withdraw their CPF while other foreign workers can, is ridiculous and biased. this was a reasonable request on the part of the malaysians. Giving the malaysians more money for the current water contract is also fair in my opinion, provided that the water treaty was in exhange, renewed for another 100 years or something like that. But we are not privileged to what was discussed between Old fart and mahathir, however, we know the cost to us today.
I have posted in the past before how Newater and desalinization will bankrupt us. this is the first time I have seen the proof in the shit times. What kind of idiot leadership would engage in a battle of egos and cost singaporeans 5000-17500 times the price of water. This does not include the capital costs in the billions $ needed to start up the desalinization and newater plants. How much money could have been saved by the economy as a whole if we had just used or renewed the existing water agreements at that time? Now that old fart is dead, we may never know wha transpired. Thanks ah gong for screwing us over. You really were a gong kia.

U can't drink pure NEWater as the micro filters can't filter everything. So they need to be put back into reservoirs for anything nasty to be diluted.
make sense. if newwater is so safe, what for mix with reservoirs and then retreat over again like rainwater??
can put a test la:
fish tank A with new water (10 goldfishs)
fish tank B normal water (10 goldfishes)
fish tank C , normal mix with new water
monitor for a year to see their life expectancy
the process of newwater is multi layered, its not just filtration and ultraviolet alone, there is also distillation, filtered water is boiled at boiling temperature to remove any impurities and inorganic matter, any organic matter will be removed at lower temperatures, this process can be repeated multiple times to ensure the highest grade of purity possible.chromatography and gas spectronomy will be carried out to ensure there are no particulates of fecal matter present.in nature this natural process is called rain.
there's no distillation (thus evaporation and condensation) in the newater process. it uses a series reverse osmosis as the primary filtration process.

Why don't use desalination more? Israel seems to be very successful in water desalination and helping California. Spore got consult Israel?

IDE plans more U.S. desalination plants after California success
X
By Ari Rabinovitch | JERUSALEM
(Reuters) - Israel's IDE Technologies, which opened this week a billion-dollar desalination plant in California, is helping to plan 10 new facilities throughout the United States, the company's chief executive said on Wednesday.
Together with U.S. partner Poseidon Water, IDE has just completed the country's largest desalination plant, located on the Pacific coast in the city of Carlsbad. It will supply much needed drinking water for 300,000 households, alleviating the area's water shortage.
Yet it may just be the first of eight more plants being planned for California, of which IDE is involved in three, said CEO Avshalom Felber. IDE's others are in Texas and Florida.
"It's the start of a solution," Felber told Reuters. "And once you have a successful plant like this, it raises our profile in the United States."
Desalination has emerged as a promising technology in the face of a record dry spell gripping California for several years, depleting its reservoirs and aquifers and raising the costs of importing water from elsewhere.
you must be another GCB.
Singapore is nos 1 successful in water and you ask us to suck up to Israel ?
GCB is you. Israel gets 80% of domestic water from desalination, certainly superior to shit water we get.
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/news/nation-world/national/article24765472.html
"Some 80 percent of domestic water use in Israeli cities comes from desalinated water, according to Israeli officials"
that is because their energy is not imported like us.
in desalination, main concern is energy usage.
stupidest GCB I ever seen. go live in sewage
Stupidest GCB is you. I said consult Israel. So you are expert in this field? What's your credentials ? Want to attack me just say so. No need to go one big round to find some flimsy excuse. Mudlander dog or IB.
I never say I am expert in anything.
I only ask you to use your pig brain to think simple.
our energy is not dig up from the ground.
GCB pig
we are told that drinking water that had been boiled and reboiled and reboiled again can cause cancer
wow so we drinking shit?even nature filters the water using the ground and evaporation.im drinking ice mountain from now on.
Places like California have been in drought for years. They are now wishing they had built desalination or NeWater plants years ago.
Johor is having drought too. El Nino effect getting more severe in recent years due to climate change. Best to have our own backup plan. If we don't do desalination or NeWater, do you have any other solid ideas for us to diversify our water supplies?
most impurities can be removed from a rigorous multi-stage process of reverse osmosis, including shit and urine. the exception is impurity at the molecular level - e.g. pharmaceutical residue and composites. you may be drinking small traces of drugs if you drink recycled sai chwee.
even water from springs and snow are no longer pure as the amount of pollution and harmful particles in the air is getting worse with more cuntries industrializing and developing their economies (and burning forests). the cleanest snowfalls are most likely in the antarctic and arctic as they are remote from civilization and airborne pollution typically moves along the latitudes where china and america are burning coal and teeming with automobiles. the $1.20 bottled water that you drink is one big global scam as all tom dick and harry companies in every cuntry including of all places fiji jump on the profit bandwagon and sell filtered tap water as though they are naturally collected water from springs and snow. there are exceptions, such as water from the alps as europeans are proud of their quality, but they are expensive.
