Diamond water system seem to be overpriced if you compare to other systems available in the US. I see prices of RM$1388 in Malaysia & $1,680 in Spore. I can't find any information online about the cost of replacing the cartridges but I suspect it's as expensive.

Just compare the US prices of a system that will remove flouride & other contaminants. For only US$238 & one extra set(3 filters) of replacement cartridges is only US$77 http://www.purewaterproducts.com/fluoridefilter.htm

So for US$238+shipping+plumbing costs, you have a decent system. You can even custom design a system by selecting the filters you want & daisy chaining them together. A water filter system is nothing more than a combination of filters.

The information on the Diamond site has plenty of testimonials about the taste but very little information on the specification on the type of filter used. So it's hard to determine what filters they really use? Compared to a US model where you can chose from a wide selection of different filter types. I'm just an end user. I could care less about the science behind the things I use. How many of us really know what goes into the making of a computer, phone , TV,...

You may think being a scientist is important but I think many will agree that they don't care about type 1 & type 2 error. Scientists can't even find decent jobs in Spore.
As an end user I am looking for solutions to real life problems & don't feel a need to know the processes involved.

i used this for the past 3 years, 2 sediment filters with UV disinfection, can dispense cold and hot water for making cup noodles, very convenient. only change the 2 filters for usage around 9 months to a year for 3 person household.
