Can try Ellesse or Lacoste watches for the ladies.. You can get a Ladies Ellesse watch for less than $300.. A Lacoste watch could be slightly pricier but I don't think it'll cost more than $500.. Try goin to City Chain shops.. Think they should have these 2 brands in their shops..

Your budget of $500 is pretty huge for a 17-year old teen. The ideal teen watch would be Tag Heuer but definitely costs more. Swatch and Casio are definitely "not impressive enough" for PRCs. Stick to CK and Gucci. They're considered "branded stuff" in PRC for sure, the latter, especially.

For the men, buy the cheaper range of Seiko watches

From the comments I will go for either CK Guess Gucci.
Another brand just came to mind DKNY....Tag is out of question.
I count myself as watch aficionado so I try to give something presentable.
For the boy and young man I will get casio citizen or seiko but think the latter two now not cheap also.
